In her position as Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Gwen Martin brings together over 19 years of diverse experience in the placement industry to guide NumberWorks as it continues to be the fastest growing temporary financial staffing firm in Minnesota.

Gwen began her career in recruiting after graduating from the University of St. Thomas in 1987. She joined a locally based, national placement agency in 1990 and was an integral part of building a highly successful accounting and finance division over the course of 10 years. Taking her experience to the corporate side, she then helped a Fortune 100 retailer develop the organizational structure of their newly launched e-commerce division and was involved in establishing two new businesses prior to joining NumberWorks' sister firm SALO in 2003.

Gwen was a key player in growing SALO as a powerful brand in the senior-level financial consulting niche. After clients and consultants consistently requested that SALO broaden its services to staff-level positions, Gwen teamed with SALO co-founders John Folkestad and Amy Langer to create NumberWorks in 2007.

"There is a great demand out there for sharp talent, and competitive contract firms are perceived as very similar," says Gwen. "We've rolled out NumberWorks because our clients continually asked us for help at the entry-to-five-year-range. They're looking for the same high-touch SALO relationship, but at staff levels. Having the opportunity to build this business as a hybrid of best practices from our previous experiences is really fun."

Gwen thrives on the front lines of the highly competitive placement industry. In her role as Managing Partner, she coaches the NumberWorks sales team, helps develop business and client relationships, and builds the NumberWorks brand. She is married to husband Mike, and lives in Minneapolis with their family of five kids.
