New contract staffing company’s first hires excited by market opportunity, demand for best performers
NUMBERWORKS NAMES ACCOUNT TEAM FOR NEW STAFF-LEVEL TEMPORARY ACCOUNTING FIRM TARGETING WORKFLOW, PRODUCTIVITY AND OTHER ISSUES FOR COMPANIES LOOKING FOR THE BEST FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS
MINNEAPOLIS – April 10, 2007 – NUMBERWORKS LLC (www.numberworksllc.com) has officially named its new account team to help recruit the best staff-level accounting people and to meet the growing needs of Twin Cities companies looking for the best and brightest temporary accountants in the marketplace. NumberWorks was created after persistent client demand at NUMBERWORKS’ affiliate company, SALO LLC (www.salollc.com). Its current internal team includes seasoned finance and accounting experts, Business Development Managers, Maura Howard and Jeff Donnay (See BIOS), according to NUMBERWORKS’ Co-founder and Managing Partner, Gwen Martin, the former Director of New Business Development for SALO.
The highly competitive local staff-level accounting temp market is valued at $100 million annually. NUMBERWORKS is confident that it will corner its share and reach their first-year revenue goal of $3 million -- despite the dearth of staff level professionals currently in the marketplace and lack of upcoming accounting and finance graduates in the field. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, in Minnesota alone there is a 22% projected job growth for the accounting profession through 2012 and accounting being the number one college degree sought by employers.
“Angela, Maura and Jeff reflect the kind of superior talent we are attracting to NumberWorks: Smart, aggressive and flexible professionals, who are always ready to serve clients and deliver results,” Martin says. “We’re very fortunate to have them join us in our launch, and we look forward to their expertise in building a highly competitive company.”
“When I learned that NumberWorks was going to roll out of SALO’s successful model to address the needs of staff-level accounting and finance employees, I knew I had to be there on the ground level,” says Whitcomb, who brings nearly 12 years of experience in recruiting and sales to her Business Manager’s role at NumberWorks. “SALO’s integrity and commitment to its consultants – and the demand from SALO clients for the new service convinced everyone involved in the NumberWorks launch that there were numerous unmet needs in the market – despite there being more than 30 companies in the space!”
“The most fulfilling thing about my new NumberWorks role is helping companies meet their needs and at the same time helping people to find exciting and career-building job opportunities,” Howard notes. “Consultants can build a career on temporary assignments and enjoy all the benefits of full-time employment, while companies can engage the best interim staffing talent that the Twin Cities market has to offer. Before joining SALO, Howard worked at a local office of a large national placement firm for four years, where she did recruiting and sales. She then spent five years as vice president of sales and marketing for a small firm. But she missed the staffing industry and moved to SALO in 2006, then to NumberWorks early in 2007.
“We have a tremendous opportunity to fill an underserved niche in the marketplace by attracting and retaining motivated consultants whose goals are congruent with our clients’ needs. And in doing so, we can provide a mutually beneficial result,” says Donnay, who worked on the sales force for Thomson West, and later found his passion at Corporate Interns, a placement firm that matches local companies and college students to form positive internship experiences. Throughout his time with the firm, Donnay discovered that the dynamic, fast-paced placement industry is the perfect fit for him, making him an ideal candidate for his current new role: “NumberWorks is proving to be a very rewarding and fulfilling work experience for anyone who joins its ranks.”
