NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS RECOGNIZES SALO WITH TWO LEADERSHIP AWARDS, INCLUDING “WOMAN BUSINESS OWNER OF THE YEAR”

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 1, 2008—In recognition of their professional achievements, two senior leaders from SALO, LLC were honored recently by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) with 2008 awards, including “Women Business Owner of The Year” which went to SALO founder and managing partner, Amy Langer.

NAWBO awards recognize women for their leadership, accomplishments and outstanding contributions to their companies. According to NAWBO Minnesota President Pat Scherven, "Amy Langer was very impressive to the judges because of her exceptional achievements at such a young age. She has demonstrated clear leadership in her industry as well as in the Twin Cities' business community. Amy is a great example of the success that women business owners can achieve."

At 36, Langer and her partner John Folkestad have built an innovative professional staffing enterprise that is on-track to reach its 2008 revenue goal of $56 million. Since founding SALO in 2002, Langer and Folkestad have conceived and created two new affiliate companies. NumberWorks provides staff-level finance and accounting professionals to manage workflow and Oberon specializes in providing experienced human resources executives for interim positions and special projects. Over the past six years, SALO and its affiliates have grown from a team of two to a thriving, high-energy enterprise of more than 300 associates providing staffing solutions in accounting, finance and human resources to Twin Cities’ companies.

Peggy DeMuse, partner and managing director of SALO Project, received a “Woman of Achievement” award. DeMuse has an impressive record of achievement. Over a 20 year career, she has held positions of increasing responsibility in finance, sales and management. Today, DeMuse leads SALO’s associates and provides strategic direction to ensure that SALO Project meets its business objectives. DeMuse is a CPA and also holds a Masters in Business Taxation.

John Folkestad, SALO CO-founder, said that “Peggy recognizes the real need that exists in the Twin Cities for talented accountants and finance professionals. She is extremely effective in understanding clients and providing the right match of skills and fit for the assignment. Peggy is a real pleasure to work with and we are so happy to have her on our SALO team” he added.
